Barbara F. James, 76, a lifetime resident of Cleveland, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at a local hospital after a lifelong battle with heart disease.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She knew everything was all right in her life if she led a life pleasing to God and was able to take care of her family’s needs.
She always put God first in her life, then family and friends.
She never desired anything for herself; she found pleasure from helping others. She will be sadly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lena Maddux; sisters: Dorothy Murray and Shirley Lane; and brothers: Jack Maddux, Ronald Maddux and Stevie Maddux.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, D.C. James; devoted son and his wife, Terry, and Karen James; granddaughters and husbands: Tara and Jason Ledford and Amanda and Richard Hall; great-grandchildren: Riley Hall, Kaitlyn Hall and Braiden Ledford; brothers: Dennis Maddux (Louise), and Sidney Maddux; and sister, Mary Jo Owens (Ed).
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011, in Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack James officiating.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at Fike Funeral Home.
