Mount Olive Freedom Celebration is returning the annual Freedom Celebration fireworks show to Bradley Square Mall this Fourth of July with an emphasis on fundraising for victims of the April 27.

Zandra Whaley said the church elected to raise money to help people who lost their homes to tornadoes instead of focusing on entertainment. The money will be quickly distributed through the Olive Branch Foundation of the church.

Mall retailers and restaurants are participating with special promotions and extended store hours. Mix104 will do a remote broadcast.

The fireworks will be staged in the construction area behind the mall.

“It will be a huge display visible in a two-mile radius,” she said. “It will be visible from the YMCA.”

The only thing that has changed about the fireworks display, produced by Larry Hill Ford, is the location.

She said the professional-grade fireworks will be launched by the same pyrotechnist used in previous years.

“Nothing has changed except the location,” she said. “It is still going to be the same awesome fireworks show.”

Whaley said the traffic plan and other details will be released soon.
