According to a report filed by deputy David Michaels, he responded to Bud’s Auto Service, located on South Lee Highway, and spoke with Ronald Cansler.
Initial investigation revealed a fence had been cut, allowing the burglars to enter the property.
A door to a metal building had been pried. Nothing could be determined missing from that building.
A section of metal was “peeled away on a larger building and once inside, a toolbox was taken from the bed of a truck which had been stored inside the building,” the report said.
Various auto parts were also reported stolen.
Detective Dewayne Scoggins was called to the scene to document and collect evidence.
Cansler estimated loss and damage at $6,197.
The report indicated the burglary may have occurred during the weekend.
- Deputy Tim Robinson of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on suspected narcotics and paraphernalia charges, after a traffic stop on Highway 64.
According to his report, Robinson said he observed a red Mazda 626 traveling west on the highway. Neither the driver nor his passenger were wearing safety belts.
Robinson performed a traffic stop and made contact with the passenger who was identified as Mark Stover.
While speaking with Stover, Robinson smelled a strong odor coming from inside the vehicle.
According to his report, “I smelled an odor of what I believe was marijuana being smoked inside the vehicle.”
The driver of the car was identified as George Lambert.
After questioning the men about the odor and possibility of suspected illegal drugs being inside the car, which Lambert reportedly denied, Lambert was asked for consent to search the vehicle.
Lambert complied and during the search, Robinson found two containers inside the vehicle’s center console. He also found a glass pipe containing the suspected marijuana inside. One container held pills, according to his report.
As Robinson continued to search, he located a black plastic bag which contained another bag containing a “green leafy substance.”
The two men were placed under arrest and the suspected narcotics, the pipe, $761 in cash and the vehicle were seized.
