Six-time rodeo clown of the year Bob Corley will be at the Cleveland Cowboy Church’s first anniversary celebration this Sunday at 11 a.m.

“It’s a privilege to have Bob bring the message at our first anniversary,” said Wally Varnell, pastor of the Dockery Heights congregation. “Besides being a rodeo clown and a two-time bareback bronc riding champion, Bob is a committed Christian and a talented musician, performer and recording artist.”

Corley and his clown dogs, Maggie Mae and Ducy Jane, entertain rodeo crowds all over the Southeast. Along with his brother Brett, the one-time Bareback Rookie of the Year will provide special music and bring the message at the morning worship service. A block-party style celebration, complete with free food and inflatable bouncing games for the kids, will follow.

“We’re looking forward to Bob and Bret playing and singing,” continued Varnell. “And it’s going to be interesting to hear some of Bob’s tales about life as a rodeo clown and cowboy. Then we’re going outside for a time of fun and fellowship.”

Everyone is invited to the celebration at the Cleveland Cowboy Church, which is located at 3040 Blythe Road between Blackburn Road and Blue Springs Road, just off Dockery Lane.

“Cowboy Church is open to anyone,” said Varnell. “It is a come-as-you-are place where people are made to feel at home. The music and the message are down-to-earth and a real sense of community and family is evident.”
