She was preceded in death by her husband, S.G. Firestone; parents, Robert and Sally Haulk Eaves; two daughters, Geneva Melton and Janice Armstrong; and two sisters, Vesta Pruitt and Reba Duggan.
She was a member of Chestuee Baptist Church.
Survivors include seven sons and daughters-in-law: Harold and Betty Firestone of Delano, J. “Pete” Firestone of Benton, Wilbur and Jean Firestone of Athens, Boyd and Martha Firestone of Calhoun, Sammy Firestone of Delano, Hoyt and Karen Firestone of Calhoun, Gilbert and Bobby Firestone of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, at the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home in Etowah with the Revs. Jasper Woody, Gary Moates and Harold Firestone officiating.
The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Family and friends will assemble at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and proceed to Chestuee Baptist Church Cemetery for the 10 a.m. committal service.
