He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church, where he served as a greeter and on security for 18 years.
He retired as credit manger with a major bank.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was the son of the late Ed and Madeline Mowrer.
He is survived by his wife, Claudette Mowrer, of Cleveland; one daughter, Doreen “Dee” Griffith of Cleveland; two sons: Colan Mowrer and wife, Kathy, of Asheville, N.C., and Larry Mustain of Lauderhill, Fla.; grandson, Dylan Griffith of Cleveland; and other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, June 30, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
A white dove ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 this evening at the funeral home prior to the service.
