James Wyatt Jones, 91, of Cleveland and formerly of Athens, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at a local health care facility.

A native of Kingston he was born February 9, 1920.

He was formerly a member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church.

He retired from Cleveland Ready Mix Concrete Co.

He was the son of the late G. Lee and Mary Alice Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edith Knox Jones; sisters: Fannie Overton, Zelma Knox and Ethel McCulloch; and brothers: Henry Jones and Howard Jones.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and John Robinson of Bakersfield, Calif.; four sons and one daughter-in-law: Loyd Jones and Howard Jones, both of Las Vegas, Nev., Gary Jones of Mohave Valley, Ariz., and David and Karen Jones of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Ada and John Moses of Niota; one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Eunice Jones of Branson, Mo; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lincoln and Grace Farmer of Cleveland.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
