A Cleveland woman has been identified as the person inside a car which was reported spotted submerged in Parksville Lake Sunday afternoon.

According to Polk County Sheriff’s Office information, the victim was identified as Queana Wright-Ikpe, 22.

“Mike Moore, of Decatur, Alabama, reported seeing a car submerged in Parksville Lake, just east of Mac Point on Highway 64. Officers arrived and were able to determine that a person was still in the submerged car,” according to the report.

Moore reported the incident just after noon Sunday.

West Polk Fire Rescue and Bradley County Fire Rescue personnel worked together to recover the body.

Investigation is continuing; however, initial indications were Wright-Ikpe’s death was due to the vehicle crash, according to the report.

It was unknown how long the vehicle may have been in the water.

No other information had been released as of this morning.

Polk County detective Joe Price is the lead investigator in the case.
