Jerry L. Maples, 79, a resident of Charleston, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, in a local health care facility.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and was co-owner of Kayline Inc.
In her younger years, she was involved in the local March of Dimes, Cleveland Jaycettes, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was the widow of Don Maples Sr., and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Melton; and her parents, Harry and Pauline Lowe Thomas.
She is survived by two children: Don Maples Jr. of Georgetown and Tonia Maples Satterfield and husband, Mike, of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Lindsey Satterfield and James Satterfield, both of Cleveland, Monica Maples Kinsey and husband, Adam, of Chattanooga, and Brian Melton and wife, Jaime, of Hixson; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Melton; and lifelong friends, Billy Joe and Ann McDowell.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Patrick Bowker, Jeff Mooneyham, Tim Childery, Chuck McDowell, Loye Hamilton and Bill Hamilton serving as pallbearers. A white dove release will conclude the ceremony.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and 1 to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
