Sixteen regional swim teams and more than 1,000 young swimmers will be at Chattanooga’s Warner Park today and Saturday for the 52 annual Chattanooga Area Swim League (CASL) championships.

Among the teams seeking titles will be the undefeated (8-0) Mosby Park Waterdogs, winners of the CASL White Division and the Cleveland Aqua Tigers, which went 4-4 in the Red Division.

There will be three sessions of competition each day at the expansive Warner Park facilities.

The younger swimmers, from the 8-and-under group to the 9-10 group, will participate in the morning sessions each day, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The afternoon sessions, beginning at 1:30 p.m., will be for the 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18 age groups.

Saturday’s championship finals are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., but could start a little earlier.

Signal Mountain won the CASL title a year ago, with Stuart Heights in second place. Other teams include Dalton, Fairyland, Big Ridge, Country Club, Cumberland, Ridgeside, Calhoun, Fort Oglethorpe, Hamilton Club, Ooltewah, Red Bank and Ringgold.
