“It is an honor and blessing to have brother Holland with us for this special week,” stated Jeff Archey, East Side preacher. “Brother Holland brings over 60 years of preaching the gospel of Christ and it’s an absolute joy to know him and to hear him.”
Meeting times are 6: p.m. for the Sunday worship hour, and Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m.
Holland is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman College and received further degrees at David Lipscomb College; Abilene Christian College; and Southern Illinois University.
He served as an instructor and professor of Bible and speech at both Freed-Hardeman and David Lipscomb and currently serves as an adjunct professor for Amridge University in Montgomery, Ala.
He is also the director of the Nashville School of Preaching and Biblical Studies and also serves as the first president of Guyana Bible University in Western Guyana.
He is the full-time preacher for Riggs church of Christ, College Grove, and is known by many from his “Tom’s Past Time Porch” segments on “Good News Today” (Sunday’s at 7:30 a.m., channel 53). He is an author of over 50 books and 50 religious songs.
“If you have never attended a service of the church of Christ, this would be a wonderful time to come and be our guest. We would be honored,” Archey said.
The East Side church of Christ is located at 252 Wildwood Ave. S.E., just behind the Jim Rush funeral home.
