Randall Edward “Randy” Miller, 58, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday evening, July 20, 2011, at the family residence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cash Edward ‘Chub’ Miller.
He was retired from M&M Mars after 20 years of service and was a well-known marine mechanic who founded Riverside Machine Shop.
He was known for his quick wit, his compassion and warmth, and his love for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa “Terri” Miller, of Charleston; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Maranda Miller; daughters and sons-in-law: Ashley and Michael Sovastion and Mollie and Matt Childs, all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Caittie Miller, Toby Miller and Anna Miller; mother, Mary Ruth Thornton; sisters: Brenda Miller and Donna Bacon and her husband Joe; and niece, Kelly Hoog, all of Cleveland.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the North Ocoee Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Danny Emerson officiating.
Interment will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Grant Pirkle, Eric Buchanan, Ben Edwards, Michael Sovastion, Matt Childs, Benny Hoge, Joe Bacon and Steve Wright serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the funeral homes.
