Dianne Cobb Harrison, 68, was called home to rest in Glory early Wednesday morning, July 20, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was born on May 22, 1943, in Etowah, and was the daughter of the late Edith and Robert Cobb Sr. and the late Robert Parris.
She was a 1961 graduate of J.L. Cook High School and retired from M&M Mars Company.
She was a lifetime member of Mount Olive A.M.E. Zion Church in Etowah, where she was a class leader and a member of the choir and the kitchen committee.
She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted daughters: Robin Martin of Cleveland and Regina and Michael Brown of Athens; grandchildren: Blake, Brandi and Jalen Martin of Cleveland, Cheyenne and Noah Brown, both of Athens; sisters: Gilda McDermott of Athens, Minister Tina (Norman) Harvey of Chattanooga, Mary Frances Williams and Kimberly Parris, both of Etowah, Brenda (Larry) Jones of Athens, Lavenda Bess of Dallas, Bobbie (James) Allen of Knoxville and Mary Helen (Frank) Washington of St. Louis; brothers: Robert (Lois) Cobb of Etowah, Guy Cobb of Athens, Robert Parris Jr. and Kelvin (Leeann) Parris of Knoxville; aunt, Mildred Alexander of Marietta, Ga.; a loving and devoted niece, Kellie (Barry) Bradford of Georgetown; special cousin, Alan (Tiger) Sanders of Sweetwater; lifelong friends: Sedalia Smith and Poncella McDermott, both of Etowah, and Wanda Ferguson of Athens; nieces and nephews and several other family and friends.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday July 24, 2011, at Mount Olive A.M.E. Zion Church in Etowah, with pastor the Rev. Joe Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Interment will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Etowah.
