A confirmed traffic fatality occurred Friday afternoon on Keith Street, north of 25th street.

Robert A. Malone, 20, of Cleveland was pronounced dead today from injuries sustained in the Friday accident.

The car he was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert. The accident occured around 2:31 p.m. near the Citizen’s Bank on Keith, according to Cleveland Police Department public information officer Evie West.

Reports indicate a White Toyota Camry carrying three individuals left Keith Street and struck a culvert head on.

“It was a single-vehicle accident where the car left the roadway and struck a concrete culvert,” said Stan Clark of Bradley County Emergency Medical Services.

Clark reported Malone and another passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel.

The car was also carrying Megan Cooper, 20, and Ethan Robinson, 21. According to West, Cooper was treated and released and Robinson was listed in critical condition, but was improving.

Malone and Robinson were airlifted to Erlanger, while Cooper was transported to SkyRidge Medical Center.

Cleveland Police Department, Bradley County EMS and Cleveland Fire Department responded to the accident.

An investigation into the wreck is ongoing, according to West.

West said blood samples had been taken and both survivors would be questioned to determine cause of the incident.
