Karla Marie Sherlin became the bride of Christopher Brooks Forsythe, both of McDonald, in an afternoon ceremony on Aug. 6, 2011, at Bancroft Church of God.

The bride is the daughter of Donna and C.J. Sherlin of McDonald. She is the granddaughter of Marie and Don Johnson of Ringgold, Ga., Carl Sherlin of McDonald and the late Gwyndlon Sherlin.

She is a 2010 graduate of Family Christian Academy.

The bridegroom is the son of Debbie and Chuck Forsythe of Charleston. He is the grandson of Donna Forsythe of DeLand, Fla., the late Charlie Forsythe, Felicia Meisheid of Knoxville and the late Raymond Meisheid.

Mr. Forsythe is a 2008 graduate of Umatilla High School and is in the U.S. Army.

The wedding was officiated by Wayne Sherlin. Chad Holcomb presented nuptial music.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and attended by her sister Chastity Holcomb of Cleveland as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were her niece Taylor Holcomb of Cleveland and Brittany Forsythe of Charleston.

Ron Skorupa of Virginia served as best man to the bridegroom. His brother Brandon Forsythe of Charleston and his father were groomsmen.

Emily Bailey of Knoxville and Tyler Withrow of Cleveland were flower girl and ring bearer.

The wedding reception was given at Mount Olive Church of God by the sister of the bride and Dreama Bailey.

The couple resides in Fort Campbell, Ky., where the bridegroom is stationed.
