Mary Elizabeth Rogers Moore, 72, of the Black Fox Community died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, in a Chattanooga hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Oscar George and Hallie Allorah Friar Rogers.

She was a lifelong member of the Black Fox United Methodist Church, where she served as the pianist/organist and a Sunday chool teacher. She was a member of the Judge David Campbell Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red Hat Society and The Fraternal Order of Police.

She was retired from the Cleveland Police Department and was a former employee of Burlington Industries.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James M. Moore; brother, Edward Rogers; sister-in-law, Betty Rogers; and brother-in-law, Robert King.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Lee and Gina Moore; grandchildren: Gunner Wright, Sharon Moore, Jason Moore and Skyler Moore; brother, Tommy and Penny Rogers; sisters: Ellen Jean and Henry McSpadden and Martha and J.P. Brown; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rogers and Nellie King, all of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Black Fox United Methodist Church in Cleveland from 3 to 6 p.m. today, and 3 to 4 p.m., Monday.

The funeral will be held at Black Fox United Methodist Church in Cleveland at 4 p.m. Monday., officiated by the Rev. Travis Humbard and the Rev. Mark Barber and Jeremy Rogers. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
