Cleveland Police responded to 25th Street, Spring Creek and Cleveland Towne Center where a number of businesses suffered loss and damage.
Detectives Matt Jenkins and Steve Ross are working to retrieve still images from various video security systems which were in and around the businesses.
Spring Creek is located on Veterans Memorial Highway (APD 40).
Cleveland Towne Center is located at the intersection of Frontage Road and Paul Huff Parkway.
Cash and other items were missing from the businesses, according to Jenkins’ preliminary reports.
Officials believed the burglaries occurred during a three-hour time period early Monday.
Shane’s Rib Shack, Fusion Tanning, Cupcake Divas, Oreck, Salon West and Cleveland NonSurgical Clinic, were among businesses where money and other items were taken.
So far, the investigation has revealed a lone suspect who was discovered to be wearing something over his face in order to avoid identification from video camera systems.
Jenkins and crime scene technician Shane Clark were able to pull several images from a Fusion Tanning Salon infrared camera system which shows the burglar’s vehicle lights as he pulls into the parking lot; an object then comes through a window of the business.
The burglar then walks through the business to an office area.
At some of the businesses, the burglar utilized flower pots or other objects to break through the windows or doors in order to gain entry.
Early in the investigation, officials believed there were at least two and possibly more people involved; however, the video indicated only one suspect.
Anyone with information or who may have seen suspicious activity at the businesses on Frontage Road or Veterans Memorial Parkway is asked to contact CPD Criminal Investigations Division at its hotline number, 728-4636, or call 728-7311 and press “0” for a dispatcher.
