CHATTANOOGA — University Surgical Associates, the region’s largest surgical specialty practice, welcomes former McCallie School graduate Sachin V. Phade, MD, RPVI (pronounced such-een fa-day) to the practice. Dr. Phade began seeing patients Tuesday, Aug. 9. The announcement was made by USA’s Michael S. Greer, M.D., Managing Partner.

“USA is proud to add a surgeon of Dr. Phade’s caliber,” said Dr. Greer. “Dr. Phade enables USA to continue keeping pace with the ever-increasing vascular services demand in our region, and brings a solid compliment of vascular and endovascular skills to our many patients.”

Dr. Phade joins USA’s team of 30 expertly trained surgeons, whose specialties include vascular, pediatric, breast, colorectal, critical care/trauma, endocrine, oncologic, heptobiliary/transplant and general surgery.

Dr. Phade is a 1998 graduate of Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., where he earned his bachelor’s in biological sciences. He earned his doctorate in medicine in 2003 from West Virginia School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.V., before completing his medical residency at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C., in 2009.

In 2006, Dr. Phade completed a research fellowship for the division of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery at East Carolina University, where his honors included receiving the Ray D. Minges Award for surgical scholarship and presentation at resident research day, and earned first place at the American College of Surgeons, general surgery resident research forum.

Prior to joining USA, Dr. Phade completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University in Chicago earning the Northwestern University Department of Surgery Fellows Teaching Award in 2010 and 2011.

Dr. Phade is certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a registered physician in vascular interpretation, and is a member of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association and the Society of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Phade will see patients ever Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at USA’s Surgical Specialties Building located at 2108 E. 3rd St. in Chattanooga and the first and third Wednesdays at USA’s Cleveland location in the Bradley Professional Building, 2253 Chambliss Ave., from 1 to 4 p.m.

University Surgical Associates is the region’s largest surgical specialty practice. Its 30 surgeons are a member of the faculty at the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, and practice at Erlanger, Memorial, Parkridge, and Rhea County hospital systems.
