106th The Church of God General Assembly slated to begin Tuesday

The 106th General Assembly of The Church of God will be held Tuesday through Sept. 4 at the Lowery Ministry Center auditorium.

The pre-assembly rally will be conduced on Tuesday with singing, prayer and preaching beginning at 7 p.m.

The General Assembly is a gathering of the church’s ministers and members to transact business and engage in worship and exhortation.

The general overseer is Bishop Alexander Jackson Sr.

This year’s theme is “Walk Worthy.” Services will begin at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.

There will be activities for all ages, including worship times for children.

The official opening of the assembly will be Wednesday morning with a a time of prayer and praise.

The afternoon session will include the Call of Nations and a time for regions and nationals to share information.

The evening service will focus on the church’s “World Language” program.

Regional and national reports will continue in the Thursday morning and afternoon services.

The public relations and evangelism programs will be presented Thursday evening.

The Friday morning session will include a special presentation of “The Arise Shine,” the church’s official publication. The general overseer’s annual address will follow.

The Friday afternoon session will give information about the church websites — www.tcogonline.org and www.laiglesiadedios.net — and the Church Prophecy Marker Association.

Friday evening’s program will include a World Mission session, the Parade of Nations as well as a healing service. The youth will have an After Glow at the concluding of the evening service.

Saturday morning will be conducted by the Assembly Band Movement followed by the Bible Training Institute Department in the afternoon session.

The Saturday evening service will be a special time for the Victory Leaders Band and Gleaners as they march with banners celebrating the new year’s theme, “Grow.Fight.Win.”

Sunday morning will begin with the Women’s Missionary Band service followed by the Children’s Assembly.

On Sunday afternoon, the annual Sunday school program as well as the annual minister’s consecration service will be held. The final committee reports will be given and appointments announced by the general overseer.
