Alfred Thomas Hunt, 52, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a farmer and worked in the dairy business.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Airborne Division. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Claude and Amanda Hunt and William and Mandy Craig.
Survivors include his parents, Meredith and Thelma Craig Hunt; sons: Johnny Hunt and wife, Shannon and David Hunt, all of Benton; five grandchildren; aunts and uncles: Bud and Christine Hunt of Tellico Plains, Dewey and Cecile Craig and Johnny and Vera Craig, all of Old Fort, Earnest and Rose Craig of Charleston, Fred Craig and Windom Craig, both of Cleveland; several cousins; and special friend, James Lawson of Benton.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Walden officiating.
Interment will follow in Beaty Chapel Cemetery in Tellico Plains with Lynn Lawson, Paul Craig, Johnny Hunt, Earnest Craig, Robert Craig and Jonathon Craig serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Burns, Randall Gamble, Robert Hicks, Danny Dockery and Jerry Lowery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
