She was retired from Jack’s Kleen Rite with more than 40 years of service. She enjoyed going to yard sales, cooking and she was an avid reader. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
She was the daughter of the late Alice Louella Freeland Cabrera and Selso Cabrera. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Fleaston Shelton; her son, Jackie Longwith; her sister; and five brothers.
Survivors include her daughters: Debra Longwith of Ashville, N.C., Sheila Dunn and her husband, Jeff, of Cleveland, Alice Longwith of Athens, Charlene Longwith of Cleveland, Johnnie Helton and her husband Robert of Tunnel Hill, Ga., and Sabrina Pennick of Cleveland; her son, Terry Longwith and his wife, Michelle, and her stepson, Benny Shelton, all of Cleveland; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted today, Aug. 28, 2011, at 4 p.m. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Bishop Boyd Lawson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p. m. today.
