CHS to honor Benny Monroe

Cleveland High School will honor legendary head football coach Benny Monroe as well as the 2010-11 CHS state champion wrestling team at the Sept. 2 home game against Ooltewah.

A presentation to honor coach Monroe’s accomplishments will be held during Friday night’s pregame ceremonies. At that time, athletics director Mike Collier will present a plaque recognizing Monroe’s contributions to Cleveland High School. CHS would like to invite all former coaches and players to this special occasion.

At halftime, CHS wrestling coach Eric Phillips will present the 2010-11 wrestling team with state championship rings. The observance will highlight the many accomplishments of the Cleveland wrestling team.
