Cleveland-Bradley Concert Association announces the 2011-12 Community Concert Series. Performances are scheduled for Sept. 27, Nov. 17, Jan. 12, 2012; and April 30, 2012. All concerts will be held at the Conn Center on the Lee University campus at 7 p.m.

The beginning concert, “American Spirit,” on Sept. 27 will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the world-changing events of Sept. 11, 2001. To honor this pivotal moment in American history, Matt Davenport Productions Inc. will present a stirring world premier production of “American Spirit.”

The public is invited to join the multitalented cast of 10 singers and dancers as they go on a very powerful journey that defines the true spirit of America.

As seen through the eyes of the well meaning, but slightly befuddled Mayor of Your Hometown, U.S.A., it’s a powerful 9-minute song, dance and storytelling journey through parade routes and battlefields, town halls and concert halls. Witness moments of the American Revolution mixed with the Industrial Revolution.

Hear Prohibition jazz grow out of Civil war Spirituals. And enjoy America’s heroes, the battlefield and the ball field rubbing elbows with entertainers and politicians alike.

Local talent will be joining the Matt Davenport singers and dancers for a portion of the show.

On Nov. 27, The American Tenors, who began in 2002, will delight the audience with a combination of voices, humor and material from “Nessum Dorma” to “West Side Story” and from the Great American Songbook to Neapolitan favorites. This evening with the American Tenors is guaranteed to please the audiences.

“The Water Coolers” will take the stage in the third series of concerts on Jan. 12, 2012. This cast of five offers a high-energy, laugh-out-loud evening of song and comedy with original music and parodies of familiar songs.

The last concert in the 2011-12 series will be on April 30, 2012, when The Shangri-La Acrobats will give a high-energy performance. For 25 years, the amazing performances of The Shangri-La Acrobats have been the perfect attraction for hundreds of universities and performing arts centers. The multicultural production features dazzling acrobatic displays, formidable feats of daring and balance and brilliant costumes with a touch of Chinese comedy.

Concert series membership tickets are available in the following categories: Individual adult ticket, $50; Family (two adults and two students) $110; and Student under 18, $10. No single concert tickets will be sold.

These names will be listed in the program at each concert: Contributor, two tickets, $110; Donors, three tickets, $160; Patrons, four tickets, $210; Sponsor, six tickets, $310; Benefactor, 12 tickets, $600; Grantor, 30 tickets, $1,000; and Concert sponsor, 50 tickets, $1,500.
