MainStreet Cleveland is gearing up for this year’s annual Halloween Block Party which will be held downtown around the historic Courthouse Square and surrounding streets.
Entertainment is being lined up, according to MainStreet Executive Director Sharon Marr.
“Businesses and nonprofit organizations are invited to participate in the 24th annual Halloween Block Party which will be held Oct. 31 beginning at 5 p.m.,” Marr said.
Tens of thousands of people typically attend the annual event which became a tradition started by the Cleveland Police Department and others.
“The Halloween Block Party is a longstanding downtown Cleveland tradition with an average attendance of more than 20,000,” Marr said. “It’s a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations, schools, ball teams, and church groups. Businesses can showcase their products and offer treats to thousands of area children.”
She added, “The Halloween Block Party is a fun-filled, family event. The booths lining the streets around the Courthouse Square that are set up by various groups and businesses complete the festive atmosphere and bring a feeling of nostalgia to the evening.”
