Charlotte “Shirley” Gibson, 63, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at the family residence.

She was the daughter of the late Ollie Pickle Wilson and Luther Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Eli Gibson; grandson, Zachary Gibson; sisters: Freida Allen, Lois Grable Mantooth, Inez Crenshaw, Mildred Sparks and Vera Sue Wilson; and her brothers: L.T. Wilson, Roy “Bud” Wilson, Bill Wilson, Johnny Wilson and Jack Wilson.

She enjoyed her dogs and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Church of God.

Survivors include her sons: Tracy Gibson and his wife, Shirley, Gary Gibson, Justin Garvich, Hunter Gibson and Kyle Gibson, all of Cleveland; daughters: Mechelle Ballew and her husband, Tim, of Ellijay, Ga., Susan Clendaniel and her husband, Michael, of Rockwood; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters: Frances Couch and her husband, Willard, Barbara Kyle and her husband, Bobby, all of Benton and Nina Prichard and her husband, Spence of Cleveland; brother, Marshall Wilson of Copperhill; special niece, Cathy Whaley-Caldwell of Cleveland; her daughter-in-law, Paula Gibson of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 26, 2011, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. David Rose, Timothy Ballew and the Rev. Grady Simpson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Blake Gibson, Timothy Ballew, Derrick Gibson, Justin Garvich, Tim Ballew and Michael Dorsey serving as pallbearers.
