On Oct. 11, there will be a literacy workshop — “Every Child ready to read @ your library” — from 7 until 8:30 p.m. This workshop will discuss everyday activities to help children learn early literacy skills and is designed for parents and caregivers of young children. “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” will be shown on Oct. 13 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room. Immediately after the movie, youngsters will be able to decorate their own pumpkin. Call the Children’s Room at 462-2163 to sign up for this event.
There will be e-book reader workshop about using your Nook with the free library R.E.A.D.S. program on Oct. 7 at noon until 2 p.m. There is a limit of 12 patrons and there must be three patrons registered for the workshop to take place. If the minimum number of students is not reached, those signed up will be contacted before the workshop. The Friends of the Library Association’s Fall Luncheon with guest speaker, Susan Gregg Gilmore, will be held on Thursday at the Cleveland Country Club. Merchants Alley will again interest shoppers at the luncheon with goods from Arbonne International, Cleveland Therapeutic Massage, Daylilies, The Orange Blossom Boutique, The Painted Lady, Paisleys, The Red Ribbon, Sara’s Hallmark, The Shoe Tree and Silpada Design Jewelry. Merchants Alley will open at 10:30 a.m. and continue after the speaker until 2 p.m. Tickets for this event are $35. Reservations need to be made by Monday.
