Hazel Lois Cisco, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at The Bridge of South Pittsburg Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Bradley County to the late Clint and Pauline Cisco.

In earlier years, she was employed by Dixie Foundry (Magic Chef), and the Crane and Eldredge families for many years.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Inman Street Church of God.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Edward, Leon and George Cisco; one sister, Dorothy King; nephew, John Cisco; and niece, Senovia Meredith.

Aunt Hazel, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed watching basketball and football on TV, and chatting with friends and family who visited her regularly. She displayed a wonderful knack for crocheting and needle work, and loved her nieces and nephews as her own children.

Left to honor and remember her are nieces: Zandra (Alvin) Jackson of Cleveland, Kay (Winfred) Wood of Charleston, Grace Jarrett and Peggy Garlock of Minneapolis; one aunt, Ruby Wood of Cleveland; great-nieces: Rhonda, Marie and Denise Cisco, and Tika (Mike) Wilson and Misty Jackson, all of Cleveland; nephew, Paul George of Charleston; great-nephews: Ben and Michael Wood of Charleston and Zamison Forbes of Cleveland; 10 great-great-nieces and nephews; a loving cousin, Mary Quinney of Atlanta; and special friends the Rev. Harry Johnson, Dorothy Matlock and Shirley Merritt.

Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at Patton Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, with the funeral service following visitation at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Harry Johnson will be officiating, with burial at Fort Hill Cemetery followed by a dove release.
