- Cleveland Police continue their search for a suspect in the robbery of a local convenience store Friday. Officers responded to the Sunrise Market on Ocoee Street after a black male entered the store and robbed the cashier of approximately $800 cash. The man was not armed, according to information from officer Evie West of the Cleveland Police Department.

According to West, a customer inside the store at the time of the robbery was injured after he reportedly tried to intervene. The suspect grabbed the money and fled the store on foot. He was described as being in his 40’s and wearing a white shirt with dark pants.

West said Criminal Investigations Division detectives have a possible lead regarding the suspect’s identity and will continue to work the case until the suspect is arrested and charged. Detectives have video from security cameras and are working to capture a still photograph from the system.
