Provide the address of a service member, make a donation or volunteer to help the support group mail cards, letters and care packages.
Remember, for military families there will be one less table setting at dinner and one less son or daughter watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and football games on television with friends and families.
And then there is Christmas. Being far away from home at Christmastime can be one of the saddest experiences for members of the U.S. armed forces, but it only takes a simple card or note of thanks to make it one of the most memorable.
This year, let a service member know he or she is appreciated.
The Saint Therese Military Support Group was formed in late 2010 by a small, but dedicated group of parents as a local means of supporting American husbands, wives, sons, daughters, co-workers, friends and next-door neighbors involved in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
The Military Support Group meets the second Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Trinity Room.
