Park View Elementary students participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Thursday. This program is designed to promote the importance of literacy throughout America. The school’s youngsters helped set a record of more than 2 million people reading “Llama Llama Red Pajama.” Special guests came to read to the kindergarten students. Those guests were Johnny McDaniel, director of Bradley County Schools; Terri Murray, supervisor of Federal Programs/Media Services for Bradley County Schools; Sheena Newman, supervisor of Elementary Instruction; and Deb Bailey, principal of Park View Elementary. The children had a wonderful time and enjoyed listening to the story. From left are Bailey, Newman, Murray and McDaniel.
