He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joann Welch Stokes.
Survivors include one daughter, Annie Stokes; father, Bud Stokes; and stepmother, Dorothy Stokes, all of Birchwood; sisters: Stephanie Bettis (Keith) of Birchwood, Kimberly Brown (Brian) of Ooltewah and Stephanie Watts of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at the Burdette Baptist Church, 1910 Blythe Ferry Lane, Birchwood, TN 37308, with the Rev. James Staton officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 5 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the New McDonald Cemetery on Snow Hill Road.
