Golden Dragon Acrobats to be at Hiwassee College

The Monroe Area Council for the Arts will present the Golden Dragon Acrobats at Hiwassee College in Madisonville on Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Recognized throughout the world as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company, the Golden Dragon Acrobats are the second show of MACA’s 2011-12 performance series.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats, under the direction of world-renowned impresario Danny Chang since 1985, have played shows in all 50 U.S. states, and in 65 countries on five continents.

Along with the colorful costume designs and intricate utilization of modern and traditional dance moves by choreographer Angela Chang, the troupe combines award-winning acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats play more than 200 times each year, but will be in Madisonville for only a single night.

Advance tickets are$18/adult ($20 at the box office) and student tickets are $10. Children 4 and under will be admitted free.
