Willie Lee Winn Dodd, 80, of Cleveland, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, in a local hospital.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She did volunteer work at East Cleveland Early Childhood Center. She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served as eldest mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Florene Winn; husband Samuel Dodd Sr.; daughters: Mae Maynard and Rosetta Dodd; and two sons: Samuel Dodd Jr. and Bobby Dodd.

Those left to cherish her memories are five daughters: Mary (Arthel Sr.) Parks of Cleveland, Linda Smith and Lorene Thompson, both of Cleveland, Evelyn (George) Taylor of Martin and Lil Willie (Dwight) Sharp of Cleveland; three sons: Michael (Alfreda) Dodd of Cleveland, Thomas (Sherita) Dodd of Etowah and James (Cathy) Dodd of Etowah; one special cousin, Kenneth Dawson; a lot of special friends: Ginger Varnell, Isabell Bazell, Misty Roberts, Giselle Logan, Minister Deborah Smith, and many more; 36 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at with visitation one hour before the service at Shiloh Baptist Church with pastor Alfred Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home.
