Dorothy R. McCulley Higgins, 77, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at home with her family by her side.

She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church.

She was a poultry and cattle farmer for many years. She retired from BI-LO Deli and enjoyed gardening and needlework.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Higgins; and her parents, James K. McCulley and Lillie Ballard McCulley.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Higgins Eaves; and grandson, Brandon Robert Eaves, both of Cleveland; sister, Shirley McCulley Bailey of Easley, S.C.; brothers: Eugene T. McCulley (Ruby) and James L. McCulley, all of Cleveland; special nephew, Tommy Higgins; numerous other nieces and nephews; and her dog, Gracie.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Huff officiating.

Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
