Dorothy Sherlin Frazier, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, in an Athens health care facility.

She was a charter member of Prospect Church of God.

She was a well-known Southern gospel singer, singing with the Victory Five and other Christian groups. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.L. Frazier; son, Stacy Frazier; parents, Robert R. Sherlin and Maude Ogle Sherlin; and brother, Jay Sherlin.

Survivors include her sons: Jerry (Tamera) Frazier of Cleveland, Dr. Mike (Kathy) Frazier of Riceville and Roger (Donna) Frazier of Knoxville; grandchildren: Eddie (Buffy) Frazier, Heath (Staci) Frazier, Ryne (Beth) Frazier, Justin Frazier, Leah Frazier, Brandon Frazier and Barrett Frazier; great-grandchildren: Halle Frazier, Reese Frazier, Drake Frazier, Addie Frazier, Maddox Frazier, Nash Frazier and Kinsley Frazier; brothers: Jim Sherlin (Linda) of Gallatin, D.A. Sherlin (Mary Jo), Roy Sherlin (Alice), and Boog Sherlin (Joyce), all of Cleveland, and the Rev. Mervin Sherlin (Betty) of Ridge Manor, Fla; a special uncle, Claude Ogle; sister-in-law, Lois Sherlin of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Jenkins and the Rev. Oran Creasman officiating.

Friends and family should assemble Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fort Hill Cemetery for concluding service with the Rev. Mervin Sherlin officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
