She was the daughter of the late John Grover Cheek and Betty Ledford Cheek. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Marshall Cheek.
She enjoyed playing softball and golf and at one time served as president of the bowling league in Cleveland. She had a very loving smile and was a very friendly and outgoing person.
She is survived by one sister, Tammy Thompson of Cleveland; two brothers: Michael Cheek and Melvin Dale Cheek, both of Cleveland; nephews: Jeff Thompson and his wife, Rachel, and Nathan Thompson; great-nephew, Malachi Thompson; and great-niece, Natayla Thompson.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Martin, Mitchell Martin, Jerry Hyatt, Nathan Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Robert Cheek, Johnny Cheek and Ricky Cheek.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at funeral home.
