She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Wilson; grandmothers: Lilly Lee Fairchild and Pauline Lovin; a niece, Jessica Green; and her stepfathers: Nathan ‘Pap’ Shuler and Jimmy Myers.
She was actively involved in the Relay for Life as team captain and team leader for Mam’s Kidz. She had also previously been an umpire and scorekeeper for the Bradley County Umpire’s Association and had coached baseball at the Boys and Girls Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Survivors include husband, Nickless Keith of Cleveland; one son, Dustin Mikel and his wife, Tonya, of Cleveland; one daughter, Shalyn Kuykendall and her husband, Joshua, of Texas; mother, Carolyn Myers of Cleveland; grandchildren: Bryson Mikel, Ethan Mikel, James Keith; six stepgrandchildren; stepchildren: Nickless Keith Jr. of Cleveland, and Erica Keith of Chattanooga; two brothers: Wayne Wilson and his wife, Amber, and Gary Shuler and his wife, Kim, all of Cleveland; one sister, Lela Casson and her husband, Jimmy, of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 6, 2011, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes, with the Rev. William Curtis and the Rev. Philip Burns officiating.
Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Hunter Shuler, Paul E. Medlin, Matthew Tucker, Gary Stinnet, Kevin Flowers and Dakota Shuler serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the BFF’S, Amber Wilson, Kim Shuler and Lela Casson.
A dove release will conclude the graveside service.
