She was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church.
She loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a strong, independent lady, a wonderful cook and an avid traveler. She had been employed with Coppinger Labs and was a buyer for JC Penney and a licensed real estate agent before retirement.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dossie Lee Dixon; father, Jessie Paul Burns; her beloved husband of 54 years, Herman Edward Haney; granddaughter, Angela Stamey Guffey; and sister, Pauline Brock.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law: Carol (Larry) Jones of Franklin, Patricia (Tommy) Dixon and Sue (Dewayne) Smith, both of Cleveland; sons: Randy (Kathy) Haney of Fairview and Ken (Rowanda) Haney of Cleveland; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Barnes, Sarah Caylor and Charlene Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. George Bulson officiating.
Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons, Tommy Dixon and Chris Haney and great-grandsons: Tyler Sewell, David Graham, Patrick Benson and Alex Benson serving as pallbearers. The remaining grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
