Sam A. Taylor, 64, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Ironsburg, Tenn.

He was a son of the late Fate and Maxine Taylor. He was of the Christian faith and was retired from John Holmes Used Cars.

He loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and a faithful follower of the Atlanta Braves, but he will be most remembered for being a loving father and devoted son.

Survivors include one son, John Taylor of Cleveland, one brother, Terry (Pat); and three sisters: Debbie Hughes (Dewight), Vicki Thurman (Robert), and Lisa McCoy (Donald), all of Cleveland; he also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral will held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Mount Olive Corner Fellowship, corner of Harrison Pike and White Oak Valley Road.

Interment will follow in the Earls Cemetery with Cody Bentley, Taylor Bentley, Mike Bentley, Robbie Thurman, Donald McCoy, and Nathan Hughes serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends today, Nov. 21, 2011, at Mount Olive Corner Fellowship from 5 to 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
