She was born March 22, 1931, in Whitfield County, Ga., a daughter of the late Charles William and Minnie Belle Knight Clayton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Lee Killian; brothers: Willard Grover Clayton, Virgil Eugene Clayton and Franklin Edward Clayton; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth Elizabeth Clayton, Catherine Dialtha and Wayne Bud Neal, Bonnie Jean and Carroll Mack Roach.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Brenda Killian; daughters: Barbara Ballew and Brenda Ledford; sisters and brothers-in-law: Patsy and Bobby Cronan, and Judy and Leon Lewis, all of Cohutta, Ga.; grandchildren: Windom Lee and Candice Conner, Jimmy and Jayme Killian, Ginger and Jimbo Lay, Andrea Ballew, Ashley Stanley, Melissa Guffey; great-grandchildren: Lyndy, Gracie, Megan and Amanda Conner, Stratos, Triton and Alexus Lay, Amber and Kristen Cross, Chyanne and Dakota Guffey and Andon Dyson; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate her life will be held today, Nov. 27, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Vineyard, Pastor Nick Bivens and Preston Cronan officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Bradley County, with Ronnie Clayton, Charlie Clayton, Johnny Roach, Pat Roach, Mark Roach, Larry Cronan and Preston Cronan serving as pallbearers. David and Paul Clayton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
