The crash occurred Wednesday evening just after the official beginning of the Thanksgiving weekend travel period.
According to Stan Clark of Bradley County Emergency Medical Service, the crash occurred just after 6 p.m. on Keith Street, near Tinsley Park.
Two men had reportedly struck a bridge abutment and were pinned inside their vehicle.
Cleveland Fire Department firefighters and rescue personnel extricated the men from the vehicle.
Clark indicated the driver of the vehicle suffered more severe injuries than his passenger.
A LifeForce helicopter was dispatched and flew the man to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment while the passenger was taken by BCEMS ambulance to SkyRidge Medical Center.
n A Soddy-Daisy woman was arrested and charged with alleged drug paraphernalia possession and a warrant out of Bradley County for narcotics.
According to a report filed by Cleveland Police officer Victor Cleveland, April S. Gabbert, 44, was taken into custody after a traffic stop on 20th Street N.E.
Officer Cody Hinson and Cleveland discovered “several hypodermic needles” and pills containing pseudoephedrine, an immediate precursor drug utilized in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Gabbert was transported without incident to the Bradley County Jail where she was booked on the warrant and current charge.
n A boxer bulldog was reportedly stolen from the front yard of his owner’s home.
Deputy Andrew Coggin of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Forest Den Drive address and spoke with John Chadwick, the canine’s owner.
Chadwick said he had left his dog on its lead in the front yard. Chadwick left the residence about 4 p.m. Sunday and when he returned, the dog was gone.
The boxer has a white face, paws and chest, according to Chadwick.
Chadwick noted the dog is valued at $300.
