He was preceded in death by parents, Carter F. Cope and Willie B. Woods Cope and daughter, Karen Sue Cope.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Cope; children, Rick Cope and Alan Cope: sister, Polly Trotter; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at noon today, Nov. 28, 2011, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
