Westmore Academy will offer dance lessons beginning in January. Classes will be given in creative movement, ballet technique, contemporary and hip-hop.

Creative movement classes will be offered to pre-K and kindergarten students, Mondays from 4:15 to 5 p.m.; ballet and contemporary classes for first- and second-grade students, Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; ballet classes for third- to fifth-grade students, Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and contemporary dance from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays. Middle school students may take ballet on Tuesdays at 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., or contemporary classes, Thursdays, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

High School students are offered ballet on Mondays at 5 to 6 p.m., as well as hip-hop on Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. Contemporary will be offered to high school students from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Tuition for the classes is $25 per month per class. Instructor Megan Castleberry, who has been involved in dance since she was a child, said the reason for the small fee was to make these classes affordable.

For more information or to sign up for classes, contact Castleberry at 650-6358 or email mlcastleberry13@gmail.com.

Westmore Academy will present the annual Christmas recital on Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Westmore Church of God.

A variety of music will be performed by piano students of Rita Ready, Judy Warrington and Amanda Lackey. Vocal selections will be presented by students of Vera Voznyuk.
