She moved to Cleveland from Washington D.C. in 1963. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School class of 1966. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She was the past Worthy Matron of the Ocoee Chapter No. 420 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward and Frances Varnell Farabee.
Survivors include her sister, Karlene Farabee of Cleveland; one aunt, Rebecca Varnell of Cleveland; and several cousins.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Huff officiating.
Interment followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery with William Varnell, Warren Varnell, Tim Garrett, Wayne Varnell, Tyler Garrett, James Rymer and Sam Rymer serving as pallbearers.
