Phillip B. Sneed, 59, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at a local hospital.

He was the son of the late Leonard Samuel Sneed and Cecil Logan Sneed and grew up living in McDonald.

He was a supervisor at Southeastern Container for seven years and worked for Maytag for 33 years.

He enjoyed old cars, guns, horseshoes and old log cabins. He was a past member of the National Horseshoe Association.

He was a very loving husband and father who never put himself first. He was a giving and caring man who loved his family greatly and was a good friend to many. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Waymon Crisp.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Sneed, of Cleveland; sons: Gregory (Cathline) Sneed and Bradley Sneed, all of Cleveland; brother, Jack Sneed of Cleveland; sisters: Martha Lynn Sneed of Hot Springs, N.C. and Doris (Robert) Thompson of Chattanooga; four grandchildren: Austin, Justin, Mathew, and Triston Lowder; mother-in-law, Nola Crisp; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Underwood officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with his nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
