Brian William Sherrill, 35, passed away Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at his home in Knoxville after battling the effects of diabetes for several years.

He was born in Athens and had resided in Niota and Charleston. His adult years were lived in Knoxville.

He attended Charleston High, and then Carter High in Knoxville. He was known for his work as a DJ for several years. He also enjoyed his time as a wrestler in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. The local wrestling community knew him as "Brian Williams.” He had attended First Baptist Church of Niota.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Rhonda Boruff Bright of Charleston; father, Johnny Sherrill of Knoxville, and his paternal grandparents, Zeb and Ann Sherrill of Niota.

Survivors include his stepmother, Linda Sherrill; maternal grandparents, Amos and Betty Jo Boruff of Charleston; his aunt, Donna (Dennis) Anderson of Cleveland; and several cousins.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held today, Dec. 27, 2011, from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Niota. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dennis Anderson officiating.
