Bradley County Trustee Mike Smith said his office would be open from 8:30 a.m. until noon. All other county offices will be closed.
“If it (the last day of the year) falls on a weekend, we won’t work a Sunday, but we will work the last Saturday of the month,” Smith said.
Any payments postmarked by Dec. 31 will also be included as 2011 payments, regardless of when the payment actually reaches his office.
Payments are due by February 2012. Partial payments are accepted.
Enrollment for the 12-month payment program for future property taxes begins Jan. 2. The Trustee’s Office is located in the Bradley County Courthouse. The office can be contacted at 728-7247.
The city offices will not be open. However, Mike Keith, director of finance and city clerk, said payments postmarked Dec. 31 or placed in the drop box outside the downtown Municipal Building on Church Street on Dec. 31 will be counted as a 2011 payment. The finance director’s office is located in the Municipal Building, and can be reached at 472-4551.
Both offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.
