Albert Donald Scoggins, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Armanda Lackey Brannon and Erbie Thomas Scoggins; three brothers: Tommy, J.R. and Frank Scoggins; and one sister, Peggy Johnson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret “Margie” Vollan Scoggins, of Goodlettsville; four sons: Donald (Sharon) Scoggins, Alan (Sylvia High) Scoggins, Randy (Lisa Whited) and Robert (Cheryl) Scoggins, and daughter, Karla Scoggins; sisters: Evelyn (Roy) Barber and Carolyn (Luke) Garrett; grandchildren: Christopher Scoggins, Amanda Johnson, Jessi (Aaron) Eby, Brandi Kirkman, Margaret Ann Scoggins, Anthony Adams and Michael Whited; and great-grandchildren: Savanah Johnson, Braydon Johnson, Railynn Hutchinson, Autumn Kirkman, Georgia Kirkman and Kaylee Reasoner.

He worked as a systems analyst for Oman Construction Co. for more than 40 years, and also worked for Opryland theme park and Piggly Wiggly.

He was involved in the Boy Scouts, Shooting Stars Square Dance Club, Senior Citizens, the Builders Sunday school class for Connell Memorial United Methodist Church and VFW.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant radio operator, and was shot down while completing more than 31 missions in Korea.

The funeral will be held by Pastor Paul Gardner, Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at 2 p.m. with visitation Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and two hours prior to service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home of Goodlettsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels for Connell Memorial United Methodist Church.
