Herbert Eugene “Gene” Morrow, 75, a resident of Cleveland passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in a local health care facility.

He was a lifelong resident of the Birchwood community and attended the Grasshopper Church of God.

He was a son of the late Luther and Diora Morrow. He is also preceded in death by three sisters: Dorothy Stearns, Paralee Hensley, and Elizabeth Cranfield; three brothers: William Morrow, Veston Morrow, and Dewillis Morrow; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by companion, Edwina Morrow; one son, Daryl Morrow; two daughters: Donna Rogers, and Shelia Gladson (Tony); two sisters: Lorene Goodner of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and Beulah Gentry of Jacksonville, N.C.; a special niece, Debbie Cantrell (Donnie) of McDonald; special friend, Lula Reynolds; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other extended family members.

The funeral will be Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Grasshopper Church of God, located at 6509 Grasshopper Road, Birchwood, TN 37308 ,with the Rev. Carl Caffrey officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.

Interment will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Grasshopper Church of God Cemetery.
