Winston “June Bug” Newton Jr., 81, of Polk County, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston Newton Sr. and Thursa Price Newton.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Tucker Newton, of Ocoee; children: Allan Newton, Nijuana Newton and Leila Newton; stepchildren: Juda Peter, Walter Summers Jr., Juanita, Mona Hubbard and Evelyn Nemec; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mary Kate Johnson; and brothers: Cotton Franklin and Fred Franklin.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Hood officiating.

Interment will follow in the Newton Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
